Everyone is aware the amazing benefits of olive oil when consumed, but did you know that the active components that make your salad so healthy are potent in skin care as well?

Olive leaf and oil contain a compound known as Hydroxytyrosol. Here are some of the benefits of Hydroxytyrosol for skin:

• It is a very potent antioxidant.

  • Antioxidants help to combat oxidative stress thus neutralizing free radicals in the body and skin (free radicals damage cells and DNA, causing accelerated aging and even contributing to many disease states).

  • Hydroxytyrosol has been found to be an even stronger antioxidant than Vitamins C & E!

  • Oxidative stress in the skin looks like early ageing, lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, sagging skin and dull complexion.

• Hydroxytyrosol has potent anti-inflammatory benefits.

  • Inflammation can appear as redness, rosacea, acne, rashes

  • Inflammation does come from many internal factors, but we are exposed daily to inflammation in the form of air pollution, forced air, smoke, exhaust, etc.

• Hydroxytyrosol also helps to maintain skin elasticity and firmness.

  • Hydroxytyrosol absorbs very well, getting under the skin surface helping improve the texture & subtleness, aiding to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

  • Oliveda skin care utilizes the benefits of Hydroxytyrosol to help slow skin ageing, improve cellular health, and optimize the development of new cells. This can help bring about younger looking and feeling skin, from the inside out.

A signature feature of Oliveda skin care is that it is water free! Most companies use water as a primary ingredient, thus diluting the active compounds and taking up “dead” space. Comparatively, the key ingredient in all Oliveda products is Hydroxytyrosol, to which are added the other active ingredients like Arbequina oils, Avocado Oils, Hyaluronic Acid, Retinol. Water free means it is highly concentrated and very stable, so the products last a very long time.

Additionally, and very importantly to us, Oliveda products are environmentally responsible (!!) and holistic, the olive trees being grown wild in and eco-certified mountain reserve. The company originated in Europe in 2001 and has just entered the Canadian Market (yup – all shipments are from Canada!).
